The story

Tito, a little gray bunny, looks for his cuddly carrot among the blankets with Mama Rabbit

Tito and His Carrot

Tito was a little bunny who lived in a warm, cozy burrow under a big tree.

In the morning he hopped: boing, boing, boing! In the afternoon he sniffed the flowers: sniff, sniff, sniff. And when night came, Mama Rabbit gave him a hug.

But that night, Tito couldn’t find his cuddly carrot.

He looked beside the bed. It wasn’t there. He looked behind the basket. Not there either.

“Where are you, carrot?” he asked softly.

Found You!

Mama Rabbit helped him look. First they searched among the little blankets. All they found was a dry leaf. Then they looked by the door. There was a small pine cone.

Last of all, they looked under the pillow.

There was the carrot!

Tito hugged it with his little paws.

“Found you!” he said happily.

The Sounds of the Night

Mama Rabbit tucked the blanket up to his chin.

“Now it’s time to rest,” she whispered.

Tito listened to the sounds of the night. The wind rustled the leaves: shhh, shhh. A cricket sang: chirp, chirp. From far away came the call of an owl: hoo, hoo.

“Goodnight, tree,” said Tito. “Goodnight, cricket. Goodnight, Moon.”

A Kiss on the Forehead

Mama Rabbit gave him a kiss on the forehead. Tito closed one eye, and then the other. His carrot was resting between his paws and the burrow was warm and cozy.

Soon he was dreaming that he was hopping through a meadow full of flowers with his mama and all his friends.

And under the big tree, while the stars twinkled, everything was calm.

Frequently asked questions

What age is this story for?

For babies and toddlers aged 0 to 2. The youngest enjoy the sounds and your voice; from about 18 months they start to guess where the carrot is and to repeat Tito’s goodnights.

Is it normal for my little one to need a cuddly toy to sleep?

Yes, it’s very common. A cuddly toy or a little blanket works as a transitional object that gives them security when it’s time to separate for sleep. This story treats it naturally and with affection.

How long does it take to read?

About 2 minutes. If you make the sounds and pause during the search, it gets a little longer and turns into a small game before lights out.

Is there a book with my little one as the main character?

Yes. At Tiny Mango we create personalized storybooks where your little one is the main character, with their name and a 3D character created from their photo. They make a meaningful gift that gets read again and again for years.
