It was an ordinary day. The street looked the same as always. Mía was walking home, thinking about... nothing in particular.
Then the wind suddenly changed, and a piece of paper danced through the air and landed on her leg. It read: EXPLORERS WANTED. To travel far beyond Earth. No experience needed. Curiosity required.
The map on the paper led her to a door unlike any other. She knocked twice, and the door opened.
On the other side stood a panda explorer, with soft fur, bright eyes and a backpack full of tools and bamboo snacks.
“Hello,” he said with a smile. “I’m Ying, the explorer. Today we’ll travel to unexplored planets. Each one is named after a feeling. All feelings matter, and today we’ll discover why.”
“You’ll be the pilot,” he told Mía. The ship hummed, lights blinked and stars stretched across the sky.
The first planet was full of mist. Sounds echoed, and shadows moved.
“This is Planet Fear,” Ying explained. “Fear appears when something is new. It isn’t a sign to give up, but a signal that says: pay attention and move carefully.”
Next they reached a planet where time moved slowly. “This is Planet Calm,” said Ying. “When feelings grow big, calm helps us. Let’s try something together.”
“Inhale... and exhale. Again, inhale... and exhale. One more time, inhale... exhale.”
“Do you feel it?” the panda smiled. “Calm helps us listen to our emotions.”
The next planet glowed with intense light, and the ground cracked with loud sounds.
“This is Planet Fury,” said Ying. “Fury is a strong feeling. When it takes control, our actions can become bigger than we want. Breathing slowly helps us stay in charge of what we do.”
They landed where the journey had begun. “Some expeditions never fully end,” said the panda. “These feelings will return, but now you’ll recognize them and listen to what they’re trying to tell you.”
Ying said goodbye with a hug, and Mía walked back home. Something inside her felt different: now she knew how to listen to her feelings, and that made her wiser and stronger.
